Bleak – Dictionary defintions

The word ‘bleak’ has many different meanings and my first response was to look at some definitions of the word. Here are a couple of examples that i liked and that I am also quite interested in through my photography:

Definition 1:
(of an area of land) lacking vegetation and exposed to the elements.
“a bleak and barren moor”
Definition 2:
(of a building or room) charmless and inhospitable; dreary.
“he looked round the bleak little room in despair”
Definition 3:
(of the weather) cold and miserable.
“a bleak midwinter’s day”
